Trained
in Shiatsu at The British Shiatsu Association - a 3 year diploma course, with a
fourth year spent as assistant to the main tutors.
Trained as Reiki Master and qualified to teach Reiki healing.
In the 1990’s, Scotland,
Christine helped to establish a LETS (Local Economic Trading Scheme) network in
the Borders area, trading in Tweedlets rather than money, establishing an
exchange of services & skills between people.
In 1993, Christine introduced Shiatsu Therapy to Coldstream Health Centre in
Scotland, where she ran a weekly clinic for 5 years, and encouraged other
“alternative” therapists to work alongside and with the conventional medical
system.
She also produced the 2nd and 3rd editions of
“Complementary Therapies in the Borders” with co-worker Agnes Longden.
This was to raise awareness of, and availability of, natural therapies in
the region. Today this publication
can be found in the Borders hospital, clinics, health centers, libraries and
local health shops.
